TRUTH CINEMA POSTER- 2nd

Tudla Productions, an AlterMidya-member film collective, presents the 4th Truth Cinema. The 4th Truth Cinema delivers the latest human rights films and videos to urban poor communities around Metro Manila.

This year, two documentaries–Tudla Productions’ Atohan and JL Burgos’ Portraits of Mosquito Press are the main feature. Atohan is about the plight of the Lumad, indigenous peoples in Mindanao, who are being displaced from their ancestral lands because of mining and militarization. Meanwhile, Portraits of Mosquito Press–a Gawad Urian nominee for best documentary–is about the struggle for a free and independent press during martial law by Jose Burgos, Sr.

As part of the mobile film showing program, a year-end report of the human rights situation shall be discussed. These efforts hope to underscore the need to always seek and voice out the truth that which is most important to humanity—life and the dignity in it.
