Three dogs and more or less 40 chickens were burnt and grilled, allegedly by elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Summit, Brgy. San Rafael, Atimonan, Quezon last August 17, 2015.
According to the owner (a lowly farmer), parts of their house were used to set the fire to roast the animals and after eating the chickens and even the dogs, the soldiers left their house in wreck, with their things scattered on the ground.
There were several other cases of human rights violations that happened in Atimonan, Quezon, between August 16 – 17 involving the harassment of military elements against families of small farmers. This led to their evacuation of the area because they are afraid of the soldiers.
