On January 27, 2022, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy claimed that Presidential aspirants Isko Moreno, Ping Lacson, Leni Robredo, and Manny Pacquiao are “CPP-NPA-NDF lovers” after the four expressed their willingness to resume peace talks between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) in the January 22 Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews.

During his program on his SMNI News Channel, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder and Executive Pastor claimed that peace talks with the CPP-NPA-NDF only works to their advantage and that people should not vote for any candidate that favors peace talks.

FACTS:

The peace talks between the government and the CPP have been going on intermittently for the past three decades since it first began in 1986 during the late President Corazon Aquino’s term. The negotiations aim to find a unity between the government and the CPP to finally end the decades-long conflict.

The presidential aspirants have expressed support for the continuation of these talks, however, they themselves have not expressed support to the CPP, nor do they have any record of supporting the insurgency.

As of writing, the page of Pastor Quiboloy has 1.2 million followers on Facebook. The quote card posted on January 28, 2022 has been shared over 299 times, with 80 comments.
